Edition and archive note. The address of this page retains the reference to August 2024 so that existing links remain useful. The linked PDF is explicitly the February 2026 revision, not the old 2024 document. This is a reconstructed, updated resource page, not a verbatim recovery of the former article.
Identify the document before using it
The cover of the CSN publication identifies revision 20, February 2026. It expressly describes the document as informative and without legal force.
Open the official CSN PDF: practical documentation, revision 20. The CSN transport resource page also identifies this revision among its useful links. Retain the edition date when sharing it with colleagues.
What the publication covers
The document begins with transport requirements: package and vehicle identification, emergency instructions, approvals and notifications, carrier registration, radiation protection and management systems. It then brings together relevant legislation and CSN instructions.
Later sections separate common requirements from road, air, maritime and railway transport. They discuss written instructions, exclusive use, evidence for packages not subject to design approval, approved packages in Spain, shipment refusals or delays and other professional resources. The annexes include approval/notification information and a list of approved packages.
Guidance and binding rules must remain distinct
The CSN guide explains that different transport modes have their own rules. Its February 2026 discussion distinguishes the newly published 2025 revision of IAEA SSR-6 from the earlier revision incorporated into the modal regulations at that time. Do not infer that publication of a new IAEA edition automatically changes every ADR, RID, IMDG or air-transport obligation.
Use the guide as a route to the relevant legal provisions and verify their applicability to the date and operation under review.
