External ADR/RID safety adviser
DGSA helps businesses organise their dangerous goods responsibilities, review operations and put practical procedures in place. Support is tailored to the goods, transport modes, activities and countries involved.
For international companies working in Spain, and Spanish businesses operating abroad, we help connect regulatory requirements with day-to-day work across sites and teams. The scope of a safety adviser appointment is agreed for the operations concerned.
Maritime IMDG & air transport ICAO/IATA
Technical advice for dangerous goods consignments travelling by sea or air, including the interface with their road or rail journey. ICAO is the International Civil Aviation Organization, known as OACI in Spanish; IATA is the International Air Transport Association.
We review classification, packaging, marking, labelling and documentation against the requirements relevant to the shipment. Maritime work includes the IMDG Code; air transport work addresses the ICAO Technical Instructions and applicable IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
Classification, hazardous waste & documents
Advice on classifying dangerous goods, including hazardous waste, and identifying the requirements that apply to the transport operation.
- Review of product and waste information for transport classification.
- Consignment notes, dangerous goods declarations and written instructions.
- Operational checklists, packing certificates and supporting records.
- Coordination of documentation for road, rail, maritime and air transport.
Audits, inspections & APQ chemical storage
Site visits, compliance audits and technical inspections help identify the actions needed for your facilities and transport operations.
Support covers chemical storage under the Spanish APQ framework, including APQ-10, handling, loading and unloading. We help review procedures, equipment and staff responsibilities, and prepare technical reports. Advisory inspections are scoped separately from any inspection reserved to an authorised control body.
Annual reports & accident reports
Preparation of the safety adviser’s annual report, review of the supporting operational information and assistance with accident reporting when required.
After an incident, we help gather the relevant facts, examine contributing factors and identify preventive measures. Reporting duties and deadlines are assessed for the specific event and applicable transport rules.
ADR 1.3 training for your team
General awareness, function-specific and safety training for personnel involved in dangerous goods transport, adapted to their responsibilities. We also help organise training records and refresher training.
DGSA prepares candidates for official ADR/RID safety adviser examinations through practical work with the regulations, case studies and tutoring.
