New European qualification on occupational health and safety

WORLD DAY FOR SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK

Attendees at the World Day for Safety and Health at Work celebration organized by the Regional Institute for Occupational Safety and Health have shown interest in the future university postgraduate degree that qualifies those who complete it to practice as Senior Occupational Health and Safety Technicians.

The Bologna Agreement represents a significant change towards the new European space, which entails the free movement of qualified workers in any country of the European Union that adheres to this initiative.

The professional field of occupational health and safety is among the qualifications included in this unique European educational space. Therefore, the assumption of responsibility for this qualification by Madrid universities implies the design of a postgraduate program to obtain the degree.

The Ministry of Employment and Women, together with the Ministry of Education and the Rey Juan Carlos I, Carlos III, and Polytechnic universities of Madrid, have taken advantage of the commemoration of this day to unite positions regarding the future of the sector’s professionals.
