MULTILATERAL AGREEMENT 5/2010
According to Section 1.5.1 of the RID
Concerning the transport of UN1057 lighters and UN 1057 lighter refills
By derogation from the provisions of the RID, UN 1057 lighters and UN 1057 lighter refills are exempt from other provisions of the RID if they comply with special provision 2001 of Chapter 3.3 of the RID and either special provision PP84 assigned to packing instruction P002 of subsection 4.1.4.1, or special packing instruction RR 5 of the RID are met, and the following provisions are complied with:
- Each packaging/container is clearly and durably marked with «UN1057». This marking shall be placed within a diamond-shaped area surrounded by a line and shall measure at least 100 × 100 mm. If the size of the packaging/container so requires, the dimensions may be reduced provided the marking remains visible. Overpacks shall be marked in the same manner, except if the marking of the packaging/container is visible.
- The gross weight of a packaging/container containing these articles does not exceed 10 kg.
- The quantity of these articles transported in a wagon does not exceed 100 kg (gross mass).
- A copy of this agreement is carried.
This agreement shall apply until June 30, 2015, for transport within the territories of the RID contracting States that have signed this agreement. If revoked before that date by any of the signatories, it shall remain in force only until the expiry date mentioned above for transport in the territories of those RID contracting countries that have signed this agreement but have not revoked it.
